My name is Emma, I am currently a License Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Erica Cleveland, LPC-S. In the fall of 2024, I completed my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of New Mexico in 2022 and my associates of social sciences from Monterey Peninsula College in 2020.
My goal is to provide an environment where clients feel safe to be themselves and be a supportive role in the client's journey towards healing. I am a firm believer in building up client confidence to make the changes needed to live a full and happy life, one small step at a time! I have experience working with athletes, trauma, adults in various life stages, life transitions, anxiety and depression. I am very passionate about working with military veterans and first responders who struggle with combat trauma, PTSD, and transitioning from active duty to civilian life.
Another passion of mine is working with current and former athletes who struggle with the pressures of performance, identity, and transitioning to life after sports. As a former collegiate athlete, I understand the stress that is present with sports and know the difficulties of finding purpose when the time with your sport comes to a close.
A little bit about me is that I have been an athlete my whole life! I played softball at the collegiate level for 5 years while getting my degree and finished my career at Sam Houston in my first year of graduate school. I will always be an athlete at heart and continue to find active hobbies where I can compete! I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time with my dog and chickens! My hobbies are painting/drawing, fishing, reading, crocheting, and spending time with my family.
